Glomerular Filtration Rate and Creatinine Clearance Calculator

This will calculate the creatinine clearance or GFR according to one or more of four different formulae, depending upon the information entered. The MDRD formula (which calculates the GFR based on serum creatinine, sex, race, and age) is recommended for patients with creatinine clearances of 25 ml/min or less. Alternatively, GFR can be measured directly by Nuclear Medicine using a 3 hour isotope clearance method (test name is "absolute GFR"). Information concerning the CKD-EPI formula can be found at Levey et al. "A new equation to estimate glomerular filtration rate" Ann Intern Med 2009;150:604-612.
