Richard L. Page, MD, FACC, FAHA, FHRS, received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Duke University, and served as a Sarnoff Fellow at Columbia Presbyterian in pharmacology during medical school. He trained in Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He then took his research and clinical fellowships in Cardiology and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Duke University Medical Center.
A specialist in arrhythmias, Dr. Page served on the faculties at Duke and the University of Texas Southwestern before joining the University of Washington School of Medicine faculty in 2002 as Head of Cardiology and Robert A. Bruce Endowed Chair in Cardiovascular Research. Since December, 2009 he has been the George R. and Elaine Love Professor and Chair of the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine & Public Health.
Dr. Page's research interests include treatment of atrial fibrillation and sudden cardiac arrest. He has served on many national committees, including the ACC/AHA Guidelines Task Force and the Circulatory Devices Panel of the FDA. He chairs committees for the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology Foundation, and is the president of the Association of Professors of Cardiology. He is immediate past-president of the Heart Rhythm Society.
