Biography
Director, Electrophysiology Fellowship Program
Douglas Kopp joined the UW clinical faculty 2001, as an Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory (2001-2006). He is now Director of the Electrophysiology Fellowship Program at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. In 1982 he received his undergraduate degree in biology from Amherst College in Massachusetts. He received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in 1986. Dr. Kopp completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 1989 at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. He completed his cardiology fellowship in 1991 and his electrophysiology fellowship in 1993, both at Loyola University Medical Center, in Maywood, Illinois. He joined the faculty at Loyola for one year before becoming an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago from 1994-2001.
Dr. Kopp's clinical and research interests are focused on cardiac resynchronization (biventricular devices) and catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias.
