Internal Medicine-Dermatology Training Program
The University of Wisconsin Department of Medicine and the Department of Dermatology jointly offer a combined, comprehensive, five-year Internal Medicine Dermatology Training Program. This residency provides trainees with a broad educational experience in both specialties with an emphasis on areas that unite these disciplines. The successful candidate will be board eligible in both Internal Medicine and Dermatology upon completion of the program.
We offer an innovative curriculum emphasizing core areas in each field with electives and extra emphasis on consultation areas important to both fields. These include neoplasia, autoimmune disorders/rhematology, infectious diseases, geriatrics and endocrinology.
The curriculum is challenging and rewarding with a variety of clinical settings at three hospitals including a University, Veterans Administration and community hospital. The trainee rotates through inpatient wards, intensive care units, the emergency room and urgent care settings. This is complemented with multiple outpatient clinics and consultation services. Time for scholarly investigation and research is provided.
