About Our Clinical Trials and Research Studies
In addition to providing comprehensive HIV care, our program offers a variety of clinical trials and research studies that are available to all individuals infected with HIV in our clinic, state and region. Much progress is being made in controlling HIV infection with new drugs and treatments and our program is excited to participate in this research.
Our HIV program has participated in trials for treatment of opportunistic infections, weight loss, immune reconstitution and for the development of new antiretrovirals. We have screened approximately 300 individuals infected with HIV, and enrolled over 150 of them in various trials. Our program has staff dedicated entirely to coordinating clinical trials and research studies. Study nurses are available to review protocols with individuals infected with HIV so they can decide if they wish to participate.
