Jonathan B. Jaffery, MD

Dr. Jonathan Jaffery joined the faculty at UW as an assistant professor of Medicine in fall of 2002, after completing medical school at Ohio State University and Internal Medicine Residency and Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Vermont.

Dr. Jaffery's clinical interests include Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), and Kidney Disease Prevention. He has received funding to investigate the role of the eHealth on patient knowledge of CKD and nutrition in CKD, and is completing a Master's of Science in Population Health at UWSMPH.

In August, 2008, through collaboration with the Center for Health Systems Research and Analysis (CHSRA), Dr. Jaffery took on the role of Chief Medical Officer for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Division of Health Care Access and Accountability (i.e., Medicaid). This position allows him to combine his clinical experience and public health interests to help inform health policy for a large population throughout Wisconsin, through the biggest payer in the state, Medicaid.
