Douglas McNeel, MD, PhD
Dr. Douglas McNeel, MD, PhD has been with the Division of Hematology/Oncology for 8 years. He received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Music from Whitman College, Walla Walla, Washington. Dr. McNeel received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Chicago and received his M.D. from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. McNeel completed his residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Washington, Seattle, and continued with his fellowship in Oncology at the University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. He has had academic appointments at the University of Washington (Acting Instructor and Staff attending physician) in the Division of Oncology.
Dr. McNeel's research focus has been the immunology of prostate cancer and, more specifically, his primary clinical and laboratory research goal has been the development and evaluation of vaccines for the treatment of prostate cancer.
