The University of Wisconsin's endocrinology fellowship program features both inpatient and outpatient care at the William S. Middleton Veterans' Hospital. The Middleton VA Hospital is adjacent to the University of Wisconsin Hospital and connected to it via indoor passages. The endocrinology inpatient consult service includes coverage of the VA hospital. First year fellows also have weekly outpatient clinics at the VA, which are staffed by Drs. Shenker, Jaume, and Blank. All the VA clinics include diabetes care; in addition Dr. Shenker's emphasizes pituitary and adrenal disease, Dr. Jaume's features thyroid disease, and Dr. Blank's focuses on metabolic bone disease and hypogonadism.
