VA Hospital Cardiology faculty read and report all EKGs at the VA Hospital (8,000-9,000 EKG tracings per year), using a computerized MUSE EKG recording system, and approximately 200 Holter ambulatory EKG recordings each year. Event recorders, signal-averaged EKGs and T wave alternans studies are performed as required. Research equipment is available for body surface EKG mapping and heart rate variability analyses in time and frequency domains.
